Pitmen supporters deliver pitch perfect donation

Monday 29/10/2012

Our groundsmen are unlikely to have any future problems marking out the pitch at Keys Park thanks to a donation from the club’s fans.

The Hednesford Town Supporters Association, who run the fundraising Pitmen Prize Draw, has presented delighted ground staff with new line marking equipment bought with funds raised by their latest monthly draw.

Groundsman Phil Roadway was handed his new equipment during our recent home fixture with Ashton United.

Pitmen Prize Draw administrator Keith Harley said the group will continue to deliver on their preseason pledge to help with maintenance costs at Keys Park following their latest donation.

Harley said: “As the administrator I was very pleased to be asked if PPD funds could be used to purchase the line marking equipment for use by our groundsmen. The Pitmen Prize Draw has proved and will continue to be an excellent fundraiser for both the Supporters Association and the club.”

Members of Hednesford’s draw see their £5 monthly payments split three ways with 50 per cent of funds going towards prize money, 40 per cent to a club fund and the remaining 10 per cent retained by the Supporters Association for initiatives around the club.

Last season the club shop at Keys Park was opened thanks to funds provided by the fans group.

Supporters looking to join the PPD can download an application form from www.htfcsa.co.uk/prizedraw.
