Hednesford Town Football Club are delighted to confirm that midfielder Sean Williams has been selected for the England C Contingency Squad.
Williams has been called up to the 18 man squad for the England C training camp which will take place at Warwick University between Sunday 27th September and Tuesday 29th September ahead of the commencement of the International Challenge Trophy competition.
Joining the camp after our FA Cup game against Bedworth United at the weekend it gives manager Paul Fairclough a chance to assess players should a call-up to the main squad be required.
The 23-year-old joined the Pitmen in the summer following his release by Altrincham and has been an ever present so far.
He is the first player from Keys Park to be called up since the club were in the Football Conference set-up during the 1990s when Scott Cooksey, Joe O’Connor and Kevin Collins all represented England C.
Williams has been included alongside a number of players from the Vanarama Conference Premier and the club are extremely proud to hear of his selection.
