Match Preview: Curzon Ashton (H)

Friday 29/01/2016

Hednesford Town return home this weekend looking to build on an important victory in midweek that saw them move out of the relegation zone.

After the defeat of AFC Telford United, the Pitmen will be looking to record a similar result at Keys Park on Saturday against Curzon Ashton.

It will be somewhat of a journey into the unknown for both sides with the Pitmen never having faced “The Nash” in our 136 year history.

After back-to-back promotions, the Tameside club have enjoyed a successful first campaign at this level and currently sit in eighth place in the National League North.

Ahead of the game manager Frank Sinclair said:

“I went to watch them play earlier this week, they are a very good side and our boys know that.

“We have rested properly as a lot of them have played over 180 minutes in three days and are now prepared for Saturday.”

The Pitmen’s numbers have been boosted by the arrival of striker Danny Glover yesterday and he is set to go straight into the squad for the game.

Andy Todd is still missing after breaking his arm just over two weeks ago while Tom Thorley is still recovering after suffering an aggravation to his injury when he returned to the first team fold over the New Year period.

Before the match kicks-off there will be a minute’s silence in memory of club stalwart Trevor Hill
