Match Preview: Mansfield Town XI (H)

Friday 21/07/2017

Hednesford Town return home this Saturday for the first time since the end of the last campaign as they prepare to host a Mansfield Town XI at Keys Park.

Following the appointment of a new management team in May, this will also give them the chance to show off the newly built squad to their own supporters, after playing three away matches so far in pre-season.

First Team Player-Coach Kris Taylor admitted that he couldn’t wait to get back out onto the Keys Park pitch – which has undergone significant regeneration over the summer – once again this weekend.

He said:

“I’m looking forward to being in front of our home supporters again and showing them what we have brought to the club so far. We’re obviously still looking for fitness but it is all about kicking on and progressing now and we feel that we can do this on Saturday.

“We have been working hard once again in training and along with game time this will help the squad as a whole.

“It is always a different challenge whenever you face a professional club and we know that it will be a useful Mansfield side. No matter what team they put out it will be a strong one and we have to be at it as naturally their fitness will be higher due to them training every day.

“I’d also like to thank Mansfield for bringing a team down for the game on Saturday.”

Strikers Bar will be open both before and after the fixture with kick-off being the usual time of 3pm.
