Two In – One Out at Keys Park

Monday 04/09/2017

Hednesford Town manager Neil Tooth has today moved to strengthen his squad following the arrival of two news faces at Keys Park.

Joining the club are Tyler Lyttle and Chekaine Steele, meanwhile Lee Smith has left the club after finding first team chances limited in recent weeks.

Lyttle, 20, started his career with Bristol Rovers before spending time on loan at Nuneaton Town and Truro City. The son of former Nottingham Forest and West Bromwich Albion fullback, Des, linked up with Stafford Rangers last season before arriving at Keys Park.

Winger Steele was most recently with AFC Telford United after signing from Worcester City in the summer.  The 20-year-old began his career with Port Vale before dropping into non-league last season.

Manager Tooth said:

“I’m delighted to welcome Tyler and Chekaine to Keys Park and l’m looking forward to working with both of them. They are young and hungry for success and they will bring some much needed energy to our play.

“Tyler joins us having spent the start of the season on trial at Macclesfield Town. The former Stafford Rangers and Bristol Rovers player is a very talented full back and the son of former Nottingham Forest and West Bromwich Albion defender Des Lyttle.

“Chekaine joins from AFC Telford United and played his youth football with Port Vale before joining up with Worcester City last season. Chekaine is a strong quick wide player with an eye for goal.

“Lee Smith has left the club today also, I spoke with Lee and was honest about his chances of playing and we both agreed that it was best he looked to play elsewhere. In his time with us Lee has been no trouble at all and I really wish him well where ever he goes next.”

Everyone at Keys Park would like to thank Lee for his efforts while with the club and wish him well for the future.
