Pitmen Bring In Experienced Striker

Tuesday 05/06/2018

Hednesford Town Football Club can today confirm the arrival of experienced striker Justin Richards to Keys Park.

Richards began his career with West Bromwich Albion before playing in the Football League with Bristol Rovers, Colchester United, Peterborough United, Cheltenham Town, Port Vale, Burton Albion and Oxford United as well as a handful of non-league sides.

He was most recently with Sutton Coldfield Town – a club he helped to promotion to this level of football – before manager Rob Smith moved to bring him to Keys Park.

Smith said:

“We have been chasing Justin for a while. He brings great experience, strength and most importantly goals to any team. We had several meetings with Justin, he is in top class condition, and what stood out was his tremendous attitude.

“I think he will be a big character for myself and Larry who will not suffer fools in the dressing room which is exactly the attitude we need. I’m delighted to welcome him to the club.”

In other news we can now also confirm that we shall head to Welsh Premier League side Newtown on Saturday 4th August, kick-off at 2.30pm, after our latest pre-season fixture was confirmed at the start of this week.
