Hednesford Town v Hitchin Town (H)

Thursday 05/12/2019

Hednesford Town look to put a difficult few days behind them as attention turns back to the BetVictor Premier Central League with the visit of Hitchin Town.

Danny Glover and Ben Bailey will be in charge on Saturday after taking training this week. James Hurst (injured) and Jack Hallahan (suspended) are unavailable while Tom Elliott has agreed to join Buxton FC. Tom has been highly influential in the Pitmen midfield this season and we would like to thank him for his efforts and wish him well in the future.

Speaking earlier this week joint caretaker manager Danny Glover said; “We still have a good squad of players and we need to re-focus as a group and get back to winning ways. We are fifth in the league, in a play-off spot and are still in the FA Trophy, there is a lot to play for this season.”

Hitchin Town are in 15th place, eight points behind The Pitmen having played two more games. Their last game was a 3-1 defeat to Lowestoft Town at Fishponds Road, ending a spell of good form that saw The Canaries winning four out of five league fixtures.
