Hednesford Town are delighted to announce that combative midfielder Rhys Thompson has agreed to sign for the 2020/21 campaign. Rhys arrived back at the PRG Stadium from Kidsgrove Athletic earlier this year, amid interest from a number of sides, scoring the winner for the Pitmen on our visit to Redditch United.

Rhys had previously been part of the Pitmen squad as a defender before moving on to the likes of Chasetown and the aforementioned Kidsgrove, remoulding himself as a tough tackling midfielder. Rhys has been a fans’ favourite wherever he has played due to his 100% commitment and on extending his stay with Hednesford Rhys said; “I have unfinished business from when I was here before, I have a point to prove and above all I love it here and am really excited about what we can do in the season ahead”.
