Lowestoft Town v Hednesford Town

Friday 25/09/2020

The Pitmen are on our travels this weekend as we head to Suffolk to take on Lowestoft Town at Crown Meadow in the Pitching In Southern League Premier Central Division.

The Trawlerboys won their opening league fixture at Barwell with two goals from Jacek Zielonka, before bowing out of the Emirates FA Cup First Qualifying Round to Aveley from the Isthmian League North.

The Pitmen will be looking to get their first points on the board in the league, after last Saturday’s home defeat to Stourbridge. The early red card given to Callam Mendez-Jones in that game has now been overturned, and he is available to play tomorrow. Following Tuesday’s win in the FA Cup against Long Eaton United courtesy of a late strike from Danny Glover, Pitmen manager Andy Morrell commented;

“This win tees us up nicely to go down to Lowestoft at the weekend in good spirit for what will be a tough game. It gives us the confidence to go there and bring some points back home.”
