Hednesford Town v Bromsgrove Sporting

Friday 17/12/2021

Hednesford Town face Bromsgrove Sporting for the third time this season with a score to settle. Sporting won the Pitching-In Southern Premier Central League match 2-1 at the Victoria Ground in September, following it up seven days later by handing out a 4-0 drubbing at Keys Park in the League Cup. The Rouslers beat St. Ives Town 1-0 last weekend and drew 1-1 at Redditch on Tuesday night.

A number of players are out on short term loans in order to regain match fitness and absent from the Pitmen squad this weekend; Josh Webb, Callam Mendez-Jones (both Sutton Coldfield Town), Sam Griffiths, Jono Brown (both Shifnal Town) and Jed Davies (Brocton).

Ahead of the game manager Keenen Meakin-Richards commented; “Bromsgrove are only three points behind us with a game in hand, we need a result today to ensure we stay in the top half of the table. It will be another tough game during a Christmas and New Year Period that sees us face Rushall Olympic at home before starting 2022 at Tamworth”.
