Pitmen Retentions Rally Call ……

Monday 13/06/2022

It can be confirmed today the following update with regards player retentions……

All the following have agreed terms to stay with the Pitmen for the forthcoming 22/23 season….

Chay Tilt

Our electrifying wide man, whose pace and talent saw some quality goals and game changing performances for the 21/22 season will be returning.

Martin Riley

Our solid Defensive player has chosen to return rather than retire, given how much he enjoyed being part of the Pitmen last season.  His knowledge and experience adds to the depth across the back line on and off the field.

Lewis Hayden

Lewis joined the club in the latter half of last season and proved his worth to the team putting in some great performances at right full back towards the end of the season.

Carter Lycett

A product of our own academy, who had a steady season, and continually improved every game, as he grew in strength and experience.

Josh Webb

Josh is another versatile defensive player equally at ease at right back or left back or in a midfield role. A very useful member of the playing squad.

Jed Davies

Currently waiting for surgery on an ankle injury which kept him out of action for the whole of last season, hopefully, soon to be resolved.  Jed showed great commitment while working through his rehabilitation only to have a setback upon resumption of training, we wish him a full and speedy recovery.

Rhys Williams

Rhys is our current U19 Academy goalkeeper and is a great prospect for the future, having already shown what he’s capable of in a few of his first team games he featured in last season. He had a spectacular debut away at Stafford Rangers last pre-season and was a regular squad member for much of last season.  More will be seen of Rhys too on TV in July…..(more news to follow on details closer to the time).

Joe Morley

Joe is a quick and elegant player who was one of the outstanding players in the U19 Alliance team last season, he will be looking to make a mark this season with the first team squad.  More will be seen of Joe also on TV in July…..(more news to follow on details closer to the time).

Numair Rashad

Numair is technically excellent and had a very good goal return with the U19 side last season which contributed to their league winning success.

Romehl Seraton

Romehl was a mainstay in the U19 side last season, strong and determined in the tackle and tidy in possession. A very competitive young midfielder who could make an impact this season.

Shannon Kincade

Shannon joined the club as physio last season from Worcester City FC when Eve Littler left us to move to a new job role in Nottingham. We are delighted that Shannon will be staying with us for the forthcoming season.

The management commented that, “its a great endorsement that so many wish to stay.  This not only shows the pathways are live and working for our academy players, but it also shows how they progress when they break into the team, and develop further.  Not only that though, the crop of talent that is staying with us, added to the experience from the older players is creating a nice balance of experience.  Teams win things, and teams act as such on and off the pitch.  There’s a great camaraderie in camp as we’re getting closer to preseason, and we fully intend to maximise on this, alongside everything we have all experienced during last seasons campaign to ensure we deliver everything we can for the Pitmen Fans.  We still expect a few more names added to the roster before we enter the season, but this now provides the main stay platform alongside all those players already announced, to which we fully intend to build upon.”

Don’t forget to all our squad, are available to sponsor via our webpage – Hednesford Town Football Club – Player Sponsorship (hednesfordtownfc.com), so show your support and grabs yours now while you still can.  Also, THANK YOU so much for everyone who has already sponsored the team so far.

We hope you all join us in celebrating the above people staying with the Pitmen.

Bring on preseason……#OneClubOneBadge
