Dando Returns

Wednesday 27/07/2022

Hednesford Town can today confirm that Hayden Dando has agreed terms and officially returned to the club as joint owner and Vice-Chairman with immediate effect.

Dando,36, departed the club in February due to a mix of personal circumstances and business reasons however he has now made the return to the boardroom at the RACE Stadium.

Dando said “ I am delighted to be back at the club, I looked at a couple of other opportunities in football during the summer and they were fantastic however quite simply they just was not Hednesford Town. I love this place and whilst we don’t always see eye to eye working with Graham brings out the best in us both.  Things will be a bit different for me this time around and I’ve learnt a lot from mistakes made previously which I hope will stand me in good stead going forward.  I’ve been at all but one pre-season game and the team looks in great shape so I hope we can go forward to have a great season. It’s nice to be back and I’ve missed you all. UTP”

Chairman Graham Jones added “ I’m sure by now, that this announcement comes as no surprise to anyone whose attended our pre-season games.  Myself and Ade work together so well that it made absolute sense, even after he departed in February his business was still a key sponsor, and I understand and agreed with, his reasons for both stepping away at the time and wishing to return.  Everyone looked for some big disagreement between us at the time, but honestly there was none.   We remained close as always, so he already knew all the latest info around the club which is of course a huge help in terms of Ades return and ensuring he hits the ground running so to speak.  I’m delighted to have Ade back alongside me and we can continue what we started together back in May 2020.  We’re already discussing our next steps to continue the progress we’ve started to take the club where we want it to be, & as stated the other day, we have already agreed on implementations of additional improvement works around the ground.  But it does not end there, we are looking into every aspect, from what’s delivered on the pitch, to whose in the boardroom conversations to provide that full and balanced approach, all operations around the ground, and everything in-between.  Welcome Back my friend”.

With the final pre-season games away this weekend, and Party at the Park 2022, our annual stadium concert happening at the ground this Saturday from 11am (tickets available online now at www.hednesfordtownfc.com/events/party-at-the-park-2022-saturday), what better time to celebrate this announcement.   Then the first home game against Redditch on the 6th August, will sure to be a barnstormer of a opening day for the Pitmen.

Welcome Back Ade.
