Southern League Premier Central action returns to the RACE Stadium at Keys Park on Monday as Hednesford Town take on high flying Nuneaton Borough. The struggling Pitmen will be looking to rip up the form book against a Boro side currently second in the league table.
The Pitmen were unlucky in a 2-1 defeat at Nuneaton in August with Leroy Lita scoring for the Pitmen after Jaden Charles netted a freekick. Mathew Stenson produced the winner for the home side, although the Pitmen had a goal chalked off due to a dubious offside decision and Lewis Ison grazed the crossbar with a late header.
Player-manager Danny Glover anticipates a tough game; “Nuneaton have been there or thereabouts near the top of the table all season and that is because they have quality in all positions. We have the ability and desire to match them but we will need to be ruthless at both ends of the pitch and cut out the individual errors that have cost the team so much this season.”
The Pitmen squad remains the same as for the Rushall Olympic game with long term absentees Riley O’Sullivan and Chris Clements unavailable.
Kick-off 3pm, Monday 2nd January
