Hednesford Town v Rushall Olympic

Sunday 09/04/2023

With just four matches left to play, Hednesford start a run of three consecutive home games on Easter Monday when they  entertain Rushall Olympic. Both teams come into the fixture on the back of a defeat last Saturday but the visitors know that a win will virtually ensure that they finish in the final play-off place. Rushall’s away record sees them winning half of their 18 games played so far, drawing four and losing five to Coalville (1-3), Leiston (1-2), Mickleover (0-2), Royston (1-2) and Tamworth (1-3) giving them a points return of 31 compared to the 38 they have picked up at home.

The clubs have already met twice this season at Dales Lane. On 8th October when The Pitmen knocked The Pics out of the FA Trophy 4-3 and on Boxing Day when Rushall gained revenge with a 3-0 win in the league.

The away dug-out will need no introduction on Monday with Manager Liam McDonald and two of his coaching staff Nick Green and David Bridgwater being in charge at Hednesford for a few months in 2016 before moving to Solihull Moors. There are also a few familiar faces in the Rushall squad. Goalkeeper Jake Weaver had a loan spell with Hednesford from Birmingham City while Andre Landell joined them from Hednesford earlier this season. Midfielders Callum Coyle and Richard Batchelor have also spent time at Keys Park.

Kick off will be at the usual time of 3pm with gates and bars open at 1pm. Admission is £12 adults, £9 concessions, £5 U16s (with a supervising paying adult) and U5s free (again if accompanied by a paying adult). A family ticket for one adult and one U16 is £15.
