Hednesford Town are thrilled to announce the appointment of Liam Stonely as Club Goalkeeping Coach.
Liam, 33, is a UEFA qualified Goalkeeper coach, has previously worked as Chester FC first-team goalkeeper coach, Stoke City Women’s 1st team goalkeeper coach and as Salford City FC head of academy goalkeeping. He is also part of the FAW and covers the National team U’16s squad when they are in camp.
Director of Football Andrew Reed stated ‘Liams role as Head of Goalkeeping is slightly different to your typical Goalkeeper coach at this level. He will help myself build the department and oversee the development of goalkeepers at the club. He will also be involved and working with the development squads’ goalkeepers having very similar, if not the same, contact time as he does with Ryan and Jack thus creating a good bridge between the development squad and the first team. I’m absolutely delighted to have him on board. ‘
Liam added ‘I’m really happy to be joining Hednesford Town and be part of Steve’s management team looking after the Goalkeeper department.
The project and vision of the club is really exciting and I can’t wait to get going to help push the club forward.’
