Match Preview: Halesowen Town (H)

Monday 21/08/2017

Hednesford Town return home on Tuesday evening when Halesowen Town visit Keys Park as the Pitmen look to get their season up and running.

Halesowen only visited us a matter of months ago in April when they earned a late 2-1 victory to help move them clear of the bottom four last season.

Their midweek victory last week has been sandwiched between two defeats, with them currently sitting just above us in the league table during these early weeks of the new campaign.

Pitmen manager Neil Tooth will be looking to keep his unbeaten home league record intact while also looking for improvements on the last two away results.

He said:

“To say I have been disappointed with our start would be an understatement, but we are only three games into the season so I’m still confident we can achieve our pre-season goal.

“We have played three good sides but as I have always maintained there are no easy games at this level and Halesowen Town will again provide stern opposition.

“I think so far we have seen three different performances from the team and as a new group still getting to know each other – we need to be consistent and find the right balance in our formation and in the way we want to play, something I hope we can do on Tuesday evening.”

Tooth will have a full squad to choose from with everyone coming through the first week of the season unscathed.

Strikers Bar will be open both before and after the game for both sets of supporters and we hope that you can join us for the game which kicks off at 7.45pm.
