Shirts4SaoPaulo Campaign

Monday 17/03/2014

When we visit Oxford City on Saturday 19th April there will be a special football shirt amnesty tournament taking place before the game which we have been asked to advertise in case any Hednesford Town supporters wish to take part in it.

Organiser Mark Heelis has been travelling the globe to watch England since 2006 and this year will see him heading to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

He is looking for Pitmen supporters to enter a team to participate in his football shirt amnesty tournament at Oxford City FC on the 19th April in the morning before the match in order to help his campaign. The tournament aims to bring fans together to donate shirts, whilst the price of the event also includes entry to the game in the afternoon. Details can be found here, http://shirts4saopaulo.wordpress.com/football-shirt-amnesty-tournament/

Mark has joined forces with UK based football charity Kits4causes to collect and donate unwanted football shirts to the charity ACER Brazil (Association for Support of Children at Risk) in Sao Paulo. ACER will use the football shirts donated to help children and young adults in need in Eldorado, Sao Paulo. ACER deliver training to teach children and young adults about topics such as conflict resolution, peaceful coexistence, increased self-esteem, sexual health, healthy eating and gender.

His ambition is to collect as many unwanted football shirts as possible and ship the shirts to Brazil by mid-May. Then when he visits Sao Paulo in June he is organising a visit with other England Fans to the charity to donate the football shirts and participate in a football match against the children and young people who will directly benefit from the shirts.

Mark has set up a website to host all the information about his campaign and it can be found here; http://shirts4saopaulo.wordpress.com/ and we wish him all the best with his quest.
