FA Trophy - 10 Years On

Special Guest Added To Trophy Reunion

Wednesday 07/05/2014

With the likes of goal scoring hero Chris Brindley, inspirational local lad Ant Maguire and free kick ace Les Hines returning to Keys Park for a special ten year reunion of the Hednesford Town squad who won the FA Trophy on a famous day at Villa Park, Pitmen supporters are in for a another real treat as, exactly a decade on from one of the most famous days in the Club’s long history, the appearance of another key character from that day promises to make the night even more memorable.

Thanks to the generosity of the Football Association, the FA Trophy itself, hoisted high by Steve Anthrobus and Steve Palmer after Canvey Island were vanquished 3-2 on that glorious sunny day in the Midlands, will be available for all attendees to be photographed with and Scott Smith, joint Chairman of the Supporters Association and organiser of the event, is delighted to have secured the Trophy for one night only.

‘Thanks to the open attitude from the FA, I am over the moon to be able to include the FA Trophy itself on the night. To be able to see so many former Pitmen heroes in the same room will be fantastic for the fans and to have the Trophy in the room adds an extra dimension to the event.’

The event is also being supported by Carlsberg and thanks to the brewer there will be two real ales available at the bar on the night, whilst food will also be provided and is included in the admission price. With tickets just £5 for SA members and £7 for non-members the hordes of supporters who made the short journey to Birmingham to watch a true classic game all those years ago are guaranteed to have a special night in the Chase Suite.

Any enquiries please contact the club on 01543 422870 or Scott Smith on office@hednesfordtownfc.com or 07518144801.
