Match Preview: AFC Fylde (H)

Friday 04/12/2015

It may only have just turned December but the Pitmen will be hoping that they can bring some festive cheer to supporters this weekend.

The match against AFC Fylde at Keys Park is the last home one before Christmas, and although results haven’t gone the way of Hednesford in recent weeks, home games against the Coasters have usually ended favourably for the Pitmen.

All three matches against Fylde which have been played at Keys Park have ended in victories for the home side. During the 2012/13 campaign, a 2-0 league triumph was followed by a memorable penalty shoot-out victory in the play-offs, while last season two goals in seven second half minutes for Town earned them another three point haul.

After missing out on promotion last season, Fylde have kept up their pursuit of top level non-league football this time around and remain one of the sides challenging for a place in the top five if not better.

Manager Bernard McNally is set to have a clean bill of health for the game apart from Tom Thorley who continues to make good progress following knee surgery and is hoping to be back in action for the festive period.

The game kicks off at the usual Saturday time of 3.00pm.
