Match Preview: AFC Telford United (H)

Thursday 24/12/2015

Firstly everyone at Hednesford Town Football Club would like to wish all supporters a very Merry Christmas.

Frank Sinclair’s first game in charge of the Pitmen at Keys Park couldn’t come much bigger as local rivals AFC Telford United visit for a game that will throw up a number of reunions.

After suffering disappointment last weekend at Stalybridge Celtic, Sinclair’s side will be hoping to build on an encouraging first half performance in that game when the action commences on Boxing Day at 3.00pm.

The visitors’ dugout will also see a return to the club of Rob Smith, Larry Chambers and Steve Wynn along with a handful of former players.

Speaking after the team trained on Christmas Eve, Sinclair admitted that he was looking forward to the game: “I should imagine it will be a tight nervy game at first and then it will open up as the players get tired.

“I’m really looking forward to it and maybe it gives another opportunity for players being involved from the start who didn’t start at the weekend.

“I’ve been trying to get as much information into the team as possible since I arrived. I learnt a lot from the last game about the individuals and where we can sharpen up and obviously we will be starting from back to front.

“We have got to get the back as solid as possible so that we can work on things going further up the pitch. This week we have worked on things like that before Saturday.”

Sinclair will have almost everyone available for selection on Saturday with just Tom Thorley missing. As he continues his return to fitness he is once again set to join in with the squad in order to take some part in the warm up.

Segregation

The game will see the usual segregation policy being applied at Keys Park with visiting supporters being allocated the seated Hednesford End of the ground as well as the appropriate terracing to either side. We request that AFC Telford United supporters enter the ground through Turnstiles 1A, 1B, 2A and 2B.

Hednesford Town supporters will be housed in the Main Stand, Heath Hayes End, and Wimblebury Terrace. Supporters will be able to enter the ground through Turnstiles 3A, 3B (Pass Gate), 4A, 4B and 4C.

With the match being segregated a single tier price structure will apply of £13.00 Adults and £8.00 Concessions (U16 and Over 65), however, the ‘Adult/Child and Family Terrace Ticket’ prices will still apply for both sets of supporters.

At halftime during the game there will also be a mascot race with Pitman Pete taking on Bobby the Buck, Timmy Tyre from Hednesford Raceway, Hero Bear from Help for Heroes and characters from The Friends of Hednesford Park.
