Match Preview: Stalybridge Celtic (A)

Friday 18/12/2015

The dawn of a new era begins this weekend as Frank Sinclair takes charge of his first Hednesford Town game since being appointed manager.

The Pitmen head to Stalybridge Celtic aiming to keep an impressive record intact from the last two seasons which has seen them win 4-0 and 5-0 respectively.

After tasting victory on the opening day of the season against Liam Watson’s side, Hednesford will also be looking to complete the first league double of this campaign.

The new boss admitted that he was looking for his team to compete on the front foot from the first whistle:

“The biggest thing for me here is getting the consistency right; if you get that right and the performance right then you will get the results on the pitch.

“We will base my ideas and focus on that, let’s get some consistency in results at this football club – I want to make us a lot harder to beat and change the mentality of this team and try and make us into a team that can compete again at this level.

“I have got an idea of the squad and my thoughts are on who should play where. What shape we should play is something I have to decide very quickly and take into Saturday’s game.”

Sinclair will have almost everyone available for selection on Saturday with just Tom Thorley missing. He is making good progress from his knee injury and as he continues his return to fitness he is set to join the squad tomorrow in order to take some part in the pre-match warm up.
