Mukendi Signs Pitmen Contract

Friday 27/01/2017

Hednesford Town Football Club are pleased to announce that striker Vinny Mukendi has signed a contract with the Pitmen until the end of the current campaign.

Manager Paul Casey has moved quickly to tie the in-form striker down to a deal after he made an immediate impression, scoring three goals in his first three games for the club.

After scoring twice during the defeat at Spennymoor Town, the big frontman opened the scoring last weekend against Rushall Olympic before setting up the second goal in a ‘Man of the Match’ display.

Casey said:

“After a couple of fantastic performances by Vinny we are pleased to announce that he has agreed a contract for the rest of the season with an option for the following campaign.

“Vinny was not enjoying his football at step one and contacted me after leaving North Ferriby United. I spoke to several people who I trust and they all confirmed that he would be a great signing for us and a handful at step three.

“I’ve watched most teams in this league and feel Vinny would get into any of them and he is one of the best forwards I’ve seen at this level and probably step two as well.

“He is unique and is fantastic in both boxes and as supporters saw against Rushall he is very comfortable with the ball on the floor. When he gets a few more games under his belt, and the pitches get a little firmer, he could be unplayable and we are pleased he has agreed a deal with us.”

The manager has also moved to strengthen his midfield area with the signing of Jordan Fitzpatrick from Rushall Olympic.

Fitzpatrick, who was born in Stourbridge, began his career with Wolverhampton Wanderers before moving to Hereford United in September 2006. Spells at Bromsgrove Rovers, Worcester City, Corby Town, Redditch United and The Pics have followed before his arrival at Keys Park.

The 28-year-old has been registered in time for the trip to Corby Town this coming Saturday.

Meanwhile Academy goalkeeper Reiss Wagstaff has moved to Brocton on a short term loan deal as he looks to gain experience of first team football.
