Match Preview: Mickleover Sports (A)

Tuesday 28/02/2017

The Pitmen prepare to play their seventh and final game of a busy February this evening when we head north on the A38 to Mickleover Sports.

It will be only the second time that we have made the trip to Mickleover, with our previous game against the Derbyshire based side come all the way back in August 2011 when two second half goals saw us record a 2-1 victory.

After defeating Mickleover 1-0 at Keys Park earlier in the season, thanks to a solitary goal from Danny Glover, the Pitmen head into the game looking to record a league double over Sports.

Our hosts this evening currently sit in 16th place in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League and look set for another season at this level with them being some 12 points clear of the relegation zone. Mickleover have currently won nine games at home, losing seven and rather interestingly not having drawn a single one.

On the injury front, Jordan Fitzpatrick will again be unavailable for selection due to a hamstring injury which is lingering on, while Darren Campion is also a doubt due to a bout of flu which kept him out of last weekend’s game against Nantwich Town.

The game kicks off at the usual time of 7.45pm and we hope that you can make the trip to support the Pitmen – with there still being spaces available on the Travel Club, phone Ken Leese (07935723290) to book a seat.
