Match Preview: Boldmere St Michaels (A)

Friday 30/06/2017

Hednesford Town begin a new era this evening as manager Neil Tooth takes control of his first game after being appointed last month.

The Pitmen travel across to the Trevor Brown Memorial Ground, the home of Boldmere St Michaels, for what will be a tricky opening game of their pre-season and one that will no doubt test the new squad of players.

Tooth was looking forward to getting back into the swing of things after a couple of training sessions this week.

He said:

“I’m really looking forward to the game tonight, it maybe comes a little too early as I’ve been used to another week before pre-season fixtures start, but it is something different and will be really useful after the two training sessions we have had so far.

“There are still a few lads away on holiday at the moment, so we won’t have our full complement just yet but for me I am just looking forward to getting back into the dugout. Make no bones about it, this will be a real test, they have had a few more training sessions than us and I expect it to be a tough game with a little bit of bite as people look to impress in pre-season.”

The manager will be able to call on around 18 players, including two goalkeepers and three trialists, this evening as he looks to run the rule over a number of different players throughout the course of the 90 minutes.

The game kicks off at 7.30pm tonight and we hope to see as many Pitmen supporters in attendance as possible.
