The Pitmen are due to return to action tomorrow afternoon when Barwell are scheduled to visit Keys Park – weather and ground conditions permitting.
It is just over a month since our paths last crossed with us earning a point thanks to a late Joe Fitzpatrick goal at the start of November.
This is one of three times that we have met Barwell – with us yet to defeat the Leicestershire based side, drawing twice and losing once – something which manager Rob Smith is looking to change.
“Tomorrow we are due to welcome Jimmy Ginnelly and his Barwell side to Keys Park. It was not too long ago that we played Barwell at their place, and it was as expected a really tough game that ended with us sharing the spoils.
“We are on a good little run right now, despite having a frustrating time of it having lost both a league and cup game to the weather, but we believe there is still a hell of a lot to play for this season.
“I do believe that the spirit is improving week on week, and think this is there for all to see, and I also believe that the players are learning quickly and taking on board everything we say to them – something we will hopefully see tomorrow.”
The manager is set to be without defender Jim Mutton due to a toe injury while he is hoping that Ben Bailey, Sam Oji, Darren Campion and Tom Thorley will have recovered from injury niggles which they have suffered from in recent weeks.
The game kicks off at the usual time of 3pm and Strikers Bar will be open to all supporters both before and after the match.
After more snowfall and heavy frosts this week it will be advisable to keep an eye on official club channels though to see if the game will go ahead as planned.
