Hednesford Town Football Club are this evening disappointed to announce that our appeal to the Football Association – in regards to league allocation for the 2018/19 season – has been rejected.

Following a hearing that was held at Wembley earlier today the club were this afternoon notified that “the appeal board believe that the FA LMC came to a decision that was not unreasonable” when it came to moving the club back into the Northern Premier League after we were originally allocated a place in the new Southern League Central division.

As such the appeal from ourselves was dismissed with the decision being final and no right to any further challenge.

Following the appeal manager Rob Smith, said:

“I am obviously very disappointed with this news. We do not believe anybody could see the decision as a reasonable one.

“This has now put us well behind in terms of recruitment and all our hard work to date has been badly damaged. We have a determined group of players that we have signed so far though and we shall use this decision as motivation going forward.

“I would now ask for all of us connected with the club to come together as one and build towards what will hopefully be a successful season.”

There will be no further comment from the football club following this news.
