Match Preview: Mickleover Sports (A)

Tuesday 11/09/2018

After tasting success in the FA Cup at the weekend, Hednesford Town turn their focus back to league action this evening as we make the journey up the A38 to take on Mickleover Sports.

Our hosts also go into the game on the back of FA Cup success with them having put six past Haughmond FC as they progressed into the Second Qualifying Round.

Sports currently sit in 18th place in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League table having picked up five points from their opening six games of the season. We head to Mickleover looking to avenge the 5-0 defeat that they handed out to us last September.

The Pitmen go into the game also looking to keep their perfect away record this season intact – having recorded three victories out of three on their travels so far.

Manager Rob Smith will still be without goalkeeper Josef Bursik, who is on the last day of international duty with England U19s, he will though have goalkeeper Jonathan Brown at his disposal again. Other than that he should have a full squad to choose from with Charley Edge set to be available for selection again after sitting out the last three games due to injury.

The game kicks off at 7.45pm and we’d like to thank those Hednesford supporters who are making the journey for this evening’s game. You should be advised though that there are planned road closures on the A38 near Mickleover from 7pm – so please leave plenty of time for your trip.
