Match Preview: Nantwich Town (H)

Friday 15/03/2019

Hednesford Town return home tomorrow afternoon when Nantwich Town visit Keys Park after a two week break from action.

Having recorded three victories on the bounce the Pitmen go into this fixture full of confidence as they look to record four league victories on the spin for the first time since January 2018.

Our visitors on Saturday come into the game well set for a top five finish having picked up 64 points from their 34 league games this season. Among their ranks are two former Pitmen players in James Lawrie and Danny Glover – the latter of whom gets set to play his first game at Keys Park since departing last summer.

Ahead of the game Hednesford manager Nick Eaden was looking for his side to build on recent results as we look to continue our upwards momentum over the course of the last month.

He said:

“Our last game here saw us pick up our third victory inside a week. That was a good week for us but we know that there is still work to do between now and the end of the season though. This is something that we have drummed into the lads over the last couple of weeks during training and hopefully we can continue that on Saturday.”

The Pitmen go into the game having to assess the fitness of both Ben O’Hanlon and Javan Vidal who both missed our last game against Grantham Town. Meanwhile Courey Grantham has made the switch back to Basford United after scoring two goals in three games for the Pitmen.

The game kicks-off at the usual Saturday time of 3pm and we look forward to your support at Keys Park. Our numbers are set to be swelled by young players and parents from our Junior partner club, Hednesford Town Newlands.
