PRESS STATEMENT RE : SENTANCING OF PREVIOUS COACH

Tuesday 23/02/2021

Hednesford Town Football Club was yesterday informed that a coach who has previously been with the club was found guilty of several serious offences in court, for which we understand he was subsequently given a custodial sentence.

We as a club are deeply saddened to learn of such occurrences.

Our thoughts are with anyone affected by such incidents, and we absolutely do not condone such behaviour & actions, in any way, shape or form.

We as a club cannot comment on the background or detail of the case as we as a club have not been involved in any of the court proceedings, as the charges did not relate to the persons role with Hednesford Town Football Club nor was in relation to any happenings, in or around the club or any of its facilities.

We also understand the person in question was fully DBS checked prior to their involvement at the club, and was also working with the police directly (where further background checks would have been undertaken).  We also understand the person in question has not been involved at the club for some time, and had not been involved in any club work under the new ownership.

That being said, we as a club are here for everyone (regardless if you are a fan of the club or not).  If anyone has been affected by this in any way or even for anyone who may be struggling with times as they are at present, during the pandemic (whether you need assistance with your shopping, or you just wish to speak to someone for your mental wellbeing), please feel free to get in touch and we will endeavour to help anyone, in any way we can possible.

We as a club ensure we strive to provide a safe community environment, a place where anyone can come along and be welcomed.  Everyone’s well being is the paramount importance to us, and we hope you are all keeping well in such terrible times during this pandemic.

As stated the club will not make any further comment in relation to the individual found guilty of these horrific offences at this time.

Stay Safe Everyone.
