Hednesford Town sign Joel Taylor

Hednesford Town are thrilled to announce the signing of exciting Left back Joel Taylor from Chester FC.

Joel, 27, started his career at Stoke City before moving to Kidderminster appearing 56 times.

He then made the move to Chester for the first time in the summer of 2019 and had a crucial impact in the campaign-

Appearing 49 times , being named CFU Player of the Season for 2019/20 and was also selected in the Vanarama National League North Team of the Season.

He then moved up a division to sign for Chesterfield for an undisclosed fee in December 2020. The defender would then sign for Notts County in 2021, spending two years with the Magpies which included a Goal of the season contender .

He finished the season with another spell in the National League, closing out the campaign with play-off chasing Wealdstone.

Joel then made his return to Chester FC in May 2023. The left-back was a hugely popular figure at the Deva in his first spell with the Blues and was seen as a ‘Marquee signing’ and ended the season with 28 appearances under his belt.

The football department has been hard at work and our new, incoming manager has been instrumental in getting Joel’s signing over the line.

Everyone at Hednesford Town FC is delighted to have Joel on board and can’t wait to see him grace the Keys Park turf next season.
