Stourbridge v Hednesford Town

Sunday 15/08/2021

The Pitmen face a quick turnaround after Saturday’s  2-1 win against Needham Market as they travel to Stourbridge on Monday evening. Manager Keenen Meakin-Richards hailed Saturday’s performance as professional and went on to say; “Monday against Stourbridge will be another tough challenge against a good side but we are a good team as well and will go into the game with a positive attitude.”

Jed Davies has an ankle injury sustained in training on Thursday night and will be out for four to six weeks, Josh Webb will also miss out on Monday due to injury while and Callam Mendez-Jones is doubtful following his substitution with a groin strain against Needham Market. However, international clearance has come through for Ryan Price who will join up with the squad for the Stourbridge game.

The Glassboys opened their season at Banbury in a manner painfully familiar to Pitmen supporters when they found themselves with a numerical advantage early on when the Puritan’s Morgan Roberts was sent off. Jason Cowley gave Stourbridge the lead, an equaliser from Ben Acquaye meant the points were shared in a 1-1 draw.
