Hednesford Town v Ilkeston Town

Monday 16/01/2023

On Tuesday Hednesford will look to build on their last two games when they meet Ilkeston Town at the RACE Stadium. The Pitmen followed up their 3-1 win at Bedford with a point against St Ives on Saturday, coming from two goals down to draw 2-2 thanks to a first half goal from Riley O’Sullivan and a superb injury time free kick from debutant Stephan Morley.

Ilkeston’s game at Kings Langley on Saturday was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch but they still sit in seventh place in the league table with 37 points from 24 games. On their travels this season The Robins have picked up 13 points from 10 games, winning three, drawing four and losing three to Nuneaton (0-3), Rushall (0-2) and Barwell (1-2).

Last week Ilkeston made three signings to bolster their squad as they look to move up into the Play-Off places. 23-year-old goalkeeper Rhys Davies has joined from Boston United while Henri Wilder has signed permanently from Alfreton Town for an undisclosed fee after spending two months on loan at the New Manor Ground. The third signing will need no introduction to the home fans. Leroy Lita who scored 11 goals for Hednesford this season has linked up with the Derbyshire side after his exit from the RACE Stadium.

The game kicks off at the usual midweek time of 7.45pm with gates and bars opening at 6pm. Usual matchday admission prices will apply.
