JB: “Congratulations on the win! A tough game, but you managed to secure a 2-0 victory away from home. How are you feeling after that performance?”
SK: “Thanks, it’s a great result for us, especially away from home. It was a hard-fought match, no doubt about that. The lads showed a lot of character and resilience out there. We knew it was going to be a battle, and I’m proud of the way we handled it.”
JB: “The first goal Jack anticipated it really well and was Sharp to score,Nantwich are a good side physical and good at pieces, but we stood up to that 99% of the time with only one lapse of concentration, How important was it to get that second goal?”
SK: “Massive, really. The first goal gave us confidence, I always felt we needed a second to sit comfortable and give us some breathing space
Credit to the boys for staying focused and taking their chance when it came. It wasn’t easy.
JB: “Defensively, you were solid. How pleased are you with the clean sheet?”
SK: “Very pleased. Keeping a clean sheet away from home is always a positive. Our defence was tested at times, but they stood strong. The 2 Centre halves and Jack in goal were particularly impressive but It’s a team effort, really – everyone worked hard to protect our goal, from the backline to the forwards pressing up top. The clean sheet is a reward for that collective effort.”
JB “A first goal for Sion Spence for the club and what a strike it was! That’s something he has in his locker isn’t it?”
SK: “Yeah it was a quality strike and one that in essence put the game to bed. Sion has that got that quality All over the attacking front line we have options and quality; we are blessed to have that sort of talent in the squad we can call upon. We caused them problems at times and looked lively whenever we went forward”
JB: “The supporters who travelled were fantastic today. How important is that backing, especially in tough away matches like this?”
SK: “The fans were brilliant, absolutely brilliant. To hear them cheering us on, even when the going got tough, makes a huge difference. We wanted to give them something to celebrate, and I’m glad we could do that. Their support means a lot to the team, and we’re all grateful for it. It felt like a home fixture and the noise at times was deafening”
JB: “Finally, with this win, you’re in a good position in the table. What’s the focus now as you look ahead to the next few fixtures?”
SK: “We’ll enjoy this win tonight, but tomorrow it’s back to work. We’ve got some big games coming up, and we need to keep our momentum going. The focus is on one game at a time, staying grounded, and continuing to improve. The FA cup is an important competition for the club and Worcester Raiders present a different challenge; one we will be prepared for.”
JB: “Thanks for your time, and congrats again on the win.”
