Pitmen To Invite Local Kids Teams In Regular Ball Boy/Girl Scheme

Wednesday 19/06/2013

Following a successful trial last season Hednesford Town FC are delighted to announce that they are looking to involve the local community in providing ball boys/girls on a regular basis for their home fixtures next season.

The Keys Park outfit, promoted to the Conference North through the playoffs last season, are keen to invite any local boys/girls Club to nominate a fixture where up to ten of their players can be ball boys/girls for the day.

Club Secretary, Terry McMahon, stated that as part of a renewed effort by the Club and the Supporters Association to engage the younger generation in Hednesford Town, it is hoped the majority of home matches will have a local children’s football team involved.

‘The trial last season worked well and we feel that, as a Club, we can offer local children the opportunity to experience non league football perhaps for the first time.

‘Alongside our Junior Pitmen season ticket offer and school holiday football training weeks, this ball boy/girl initiative will become an integral part of the work the Club does to involve local children at Keys Park.’

Any team who want to register an interest in getting involved can contact Club Press Officer, Chris Brewerton, on chrisbrewerton@hotmail.co.uk or 07880 319739.

The itinerary for the day includes giving the players a guard of honour as they enter the pitch, a photo opportunity in front of the main stand, a half time penalty shoot out and half time hot chocolate and biscuits.

Junior Pitmen season tickets are also now available from the Commercial Office in person or by calling 01543 422870, for the very reasonable price of £32 on the Terraces or £54 in the Main Stand.
