Following the example of Sheffield United, whose recent game against Wolverhampton Wanderers kicked off at 1:25pm in recognition of their 125th anniversary, Hednesford Town have announced that evening games will henceforth kick off at 7:20pm

“The club was founded in 1880”, explained Club Secretary Terry McMahon, “and on the 24-hour clock this equates to 7:20pm.

“We feel that an earlier start will prove popular with many fans,” he went on, “and especially when County Cup games or other cup replays go to extra time the earlier finish should mean that games do not finish so late that players and fans alike miss out on sleep before work the next day.”
