Match Preview

North Ferriby United (A)

Saturday 22/08/2015

Hednesford Town renew old acquaintances on Saturday as they head to North Ferriby United, hoping to make it third time lucky on the road this season.

Despite encouraging signs so far in games at both AFC Fylde and Harrogate Town, the Pitmen have been left with no points to show for their efforts.

Rob Smith’s team’s last visit to Ferriby saw them record a fine 2-0 victory in February but it has traditionally been a mixed hunting ground for us – although the 3-2 victory in December 2012 will live long in the memory of those who travelled that day.

It remains to be seen if Ben Bailey will be fit enough to captain the side after having to come off on Tuesday evening against Corby Town with a blow to his head, while in the past week Jake Heath and Phil Trainer have joined Rushall Olympic and Sutton Coldfield Town respectively in order to gain match fitness.

Other than long-term injury victims John Disney, Paul McCone and Adam Thomas the manager is set to have a full squad to choose from.

The Pitmen will once again be wearing their away kit for the game against Ferriby.
