Pitch care at Keys Park is no longer such a drag!

Wednesday 11/11/2015

The pitch at Keys Park, the home of Hednesford Town FC, has seldom looked better. Due to the expert knowledge and hard work of David Bates and other willing helpers, the turf is in tip-top condition. But the recent addition of another piece of kit is helping even more.

At David’s suggestion, the Hednesford Town Football Club Supporters Association (HTFCSA) has funded the purchase of a dragmat. The SISIS Dragmat is a towed dragmat used for a wide variety of surfaces and applications. It is suited to sports fields – from football fields to hockey and rugby pitches.

It attaches to the back of the small tractor, offering various uses, as described by David:

  • It dissipates water and dew and stands the grass up before cutting. This also reduces the spread of grass diseases.
  • It will rake in sand/soil/top dressing and seed to speed pitch repair after matches and training
  • Worm casts will be spread and infilled to prevent weed attack
  • Debris is collected
  • It smooths the surface, “squares up the ground” and presents that pleasing stripe to give an immaculate finish.
  • Please contact the Club on 01543 422870 or visit www.htfcsa.co.uk for more details about joining the HTFCSA.
