Just ten weeks after the last ball was kicked at the end of the 2015/16 campaign, the new look Hednesford Town side prepare to kick-off their pre-season fixtures by hosting Chasetown at Keys Park this weekend.
Under the guidance of manager Liam McDonald, who has added a host of new faces to the Pitmen line-up, the club are hoping that this can be the start of something good after a forgettable last 12 months.
Chasetown, who narrowly missed out on the play-offs in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League South last season, will provide stern opposition for McDonald’s men on Saturday, 9 July as the manager looks to start on the front foot.
“The lads are working hard in pre-season training and there is already that team bond that you require. It is growing with every training session we have.
“The whole team, and myself, are really looking forward to Saturday now and getting some minutes under their belts in pre-season.”
Former Chasetown man Michael Williams is set to miss the game through injury while striker Danny Glover is also carrying a slight knock that is set to keep him out of the fixture as well.
The game kicks off at 3pm on Saturday and we hope that you can join us for the start of a new era for the football club.
