Match Preview: Burton Albion (H)

Tuesday 20/12/2016

Hednesford Town take a break from league action this evening as they prepare to host Burton Albion at Keys Park in the Birmingham Senior Cup.
This game should have taken place back in November, only for it to fall foul of a waterlogged pitch.

The Brewers are set to send a strong squad for the fixture with first team management and players being present.

Both sides go into the fixture knowing that the victors face a home tie against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the quarter final of the competition following the draw for the last eight being made last week.

Manager Paul Casey was looking for his side to bounce back after a disappointing defeat at Grantham Town on Saturday.

He said:

“We are obviously going to go out there and try and win the game of football, especially knowing that we have Wolves at home if we do so.

“There are four or five who are cup-tied, due to having already having played in the competition for other Clubs, but I’m looking forward to it.

“It is a good game to come back into after a tough loss, especially when you know that it is a new group of players.

“We will be bringing a few of the academy boys as well as they need a chance to be involved around the first team.”

The manager is set to be without Lewis Wright (knee), Cohen Bramall (groin) and Lloyd Ransome (shoulder) through injury.
