Match Preview: Wolves Sporting Community (H)

Tuesday 14/03/2017

Hednesford Town take a break from league action this evening when they host Wolves Sporting Community at Keys Park in the quarter-final of the Staffordshire Senior Cup.

The game should have taken place over a month ago at the start of February, only for it to fall foul of a waterlogged pitch.

This will be the first time that our paths have crossed with the West Midlands Premier Division side. They currently sit second in the table with them not having tasted defeat in any competition since the middle of November.

In Dan Westwood they also have a striker that knows where the back of the net is, with him having notched over 100 goals in the last two campaigns.

Following the disappointment of Saturday’s defeat against Workington the caretaker management team will be looking for a performance from the squad this evening as they look to progress in a competition that we last won in 2013.

They will be without Jordan Fitzpatrick and George Cater who are both cup-tied while Vinny Mukendi will face a late check to see if he can be involved after a split lip saw him miss last weekend’s game.

The game kicks off at the usual time of 7.45pm with the winners set to host Chasetown at home in the semi-finals.
