Hednesford Town return home this evening just 48 hours after their last fixture here at Keys Park as they face another side from the Black Country in the form of Halesowen Town.
This is, of course, the third time that we shall have attempted to play this fixture with it having being called off at the start of January and again just over two weeks ago.
Halesowen arrive at Keys Park six points above the relegation zone as they look to try and preserve their stay at this level.
Following the draw with Stourbridge on Monday, which saw the Pitmen extend their unbeaten run to three games, manager Gary Birch was looking for his side to carry on their movement up the league table.
“It will be another tough game; I say week after week that there are no easy games in this league especially when you play back-to-back games so quickly. We will use the squad again having rested some on Monday, that isn’t to say we have fielded a weakened team as it shows what strength in depth we have.
“I expect Halesowen to come and take the game to us as I’m talking about a team coming here and fighting for their lives so I’m expecting a tough game. As long as the boys give me everything though there will be no complaints from me.”
On the injury front Danny Glover (tight calf) should recover in time for the game, while George Washbourne (hamstring) is also now fit again. Stuart McNaught (calf and hip) may miss out.
The game this evening kicks off at 7.45pm and Strikers Bar will be open to all supporters both before and after the match.
Hednesford supporters will also be given the chance to vote for their ‘Player of the Season’ with voting forms out on all turnstiles.
