Match Preview: Stourbridge FC (A)

Monday 04/09/2017

Hednesford Town make a quick return to action this evening as we make the journey across to Stourbridge, looking to bounce back from Saturday’s FA Cup disappointment.

The Pitmen head to the War Memorial ground looking for a similar set of results to last season which saw us record a last minute victory away from home before drawing the reverse fixture at Keys Park.

Our hosts this evening have made a steady start to the campaign and will be looking to go one better than last season, which saw them lose in the play-off final against Spennymoor Town.

Pitmen manager Neil Tooth goes into the game looking for a response from his side after Saturday.

He said:

“It is going to be a tough game for us. Hopefully we will have Luke, Sam and Wreny back. They are three big players for us.

“Following on so quickly from Saturday’s game you don’t get a moment’s rest so now we have got to pick ourselves up and make sure that we are prepared for the game.”

We hope that you can join us for the game which kicks off at 7.45pm.

EXTRA: One piece of news which we were unable to bring you before the weekend was that defender Jordan Wheatley has departed Keys Park in order to sign for Ilkeston. We thank him for his efforts while with the club.
