Match Preview: Solihull Moors (A)

Tuesday 05/12/2017

The Pitmen take a break from league action this evening when we make the relatively short journey to Solihull Moors for our Second Round Birmingham Senior Cup tie.

Solihull play some two divisions above ourselves with them currently sitting in the bottom four of the National League. However they gained a morale boosting victory on Saturday against former Football League side Leyton Orient and will no doubt be looking to progress further in this competition.

The Moors will also have former Hednesford star Jamey Osborne in their ranks, with the midfielder having returned on loan to them in the last week. Our last visit to Solihull came in April 2016 when we recorded a 2-1 league victory against the then Champions of the National League North.

Manager Rob Smith is set to be without defender Jim Mutton, who is still struggling with a foot injury, while Alfie Crooks has suffered a long-term injury which will mean that he won’t be part of any matches in the near future. Ross Haig meanwhile will also not be part of the squad with him having helped swell the numbers in recent weeks.

The game kicks off at the usual midweek time of 7.45pm and we thank all those supporters making the trip down to Solihull.
