Match Preview: Nantwich Town (A)

Friday 05/01/2018

Hednesford Town return to action tomorrow looking to pick-up where they left off on New Year’s Day.

The Pitmen make the journey up the M6 to Nantwich Town looking to record a league double over the Dabbers after triumphing 1-0 at Keys Park earlier in the season.

In our four previous trips to the Weaver Stadium we are yet to taste defeat – with our game their last season seeing us playing out a 1-1 draw.

Those three victories on the trot during the festive period have left manager Rob Smith looking for more of the same from his team. He said:

“The lads have been superb of late and we have had three excellent victories in our last three games.

“The challenge now is to try and continue the run going for as long as possible. We know how hard it is to go to Nantwich, and they had an excellent result last week at Barwell, but we are focusing on ourselves and trying to get consistent performances out of the players.”

Midfielder Laurence Taylor has now completed his loan deal and returns to Altrincham, everyone at Keys Park thanks him for his efforts during his stay.

Defender Ben Bailey is now fit and back in contention following a foot injury, while Sam Oji and Mason Walsh will face fitness tests to see if they will be involved. Midfielder Louis Harris serves the third and final game of a three match suspension.

The game kicks off at the usual time of 3pm and we thank all supporters who are planning on making the trip.
