Match Preview: Nantwich Town (A)

Tuesday 09/10/2018

Hednesford Town return to league action this evening as they look to put Saturday’s disappointing FA Cup result against Kettering Town behind them as we take on Nantwich Town.

After picking up a great result in our last away league fixture at Grantham Town the Pitmen will be aiming to do similar this evening on a ground where we were able to record a fine 5-1 victory last season – with all five Hednesford goals coming in the second half.

That day saw two players who are now lining up for Nantwich on the score-sheet though, with both Danny Glover and James Lawrie enjoying fruitful starts to the season for the Dabbers who lie in seventh place with 18 points from their 10 league games played so far.

Manager Rob Smith is still set to be without Charlie Gatter, Josh Craddock and Matt Dodd through injury. Jed Davies is available again after serving a one match suspension with himself and Sam Grimshaw hoping to be fit after suffering knocks in the last week.

The Pitmen are also missing goalkeeper Josef Bursik who is now on international duty with England U19s.

The game kicks off at the usual midweek time of 7.45pm and we thank all supporters who are planning on making the trip.

There are a limited number of car parking spaces at the ground. There is also a nearby long stay car park at the local swimming baths and that is the best place to park should there be no spaces at the ground. It costs £2.10 for 2-4 hours and £2.90 for up to 10 hours, so offers a cheap and well located place to leave your car, with the ground and the town centre in easy walking distance.
