Tonight's Birmingham Senior Cup fixture at HOME against Romulus has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

Match Preview: Aston Villa (H)

Tuesday 22/01/2019

This evening the Pitmen get a chance to take their eyes off their league campaign when Aston Villa visit Keys Park in the Quarter Final of the Birmingham Senior Cup.

After Saturday’s victory against Basford United, the first of 2019 for ourselves, we shall be looking to take this into this cup fixture against the Under 23 Villa side – who will no doubt contain players with Football League experience.

This shouldn’t faze us though after we saw off Birmingham City in the last round. Meanwhile, on their return to the competition, Villa have so far seen off Coleshill Town and Stratford Town to reach this stage.

We shall be looking to continue our good form in this competition as we look to reach the semi-final for the second year running, and hopefully go one better than last season when we missed out in the final at St Andrews against Stourbridge.

Manager Nicky Eaden will again have to assess the fitness of Charlie Gatter, Nathan Fox and Lewis Archer to see if they can be involved after all three missed Saturday’s victory against Basford.

The game kicks off at the usual time of 7.45pm this evening and we look forward to seeing your support at Keys Park.
