The Pitmen look to consolidate their position at the summit of the BetVictor Premier Central as they make the journey to face Bromsgrove Sporting on Tuesday 15th October. The Rouslers sit in 14th place in the league table following Saturday’s 2-2 draw at Hitchin Town, which came a week after their 8-2 demolition of AFC Rushden & Diamonds.
Ahead of the game Gary Hayward explained; “It will be a tough game, we will have to mix it up a bit and utilise the strength and depth in the squad. This is a big game with another big one coming on Saturday.”
On Saturday’s 4-1 win over Royston Town Gary added; “We were running away with it in the first 20 minutes, but they switched their plan and it was game on either side of half time. They were going direct, but we matched them up and when their player got sent off, we were able to pick them off, it was a harder game than the final score suggests”
On the injury front; Osebi Abadaki is unavailable (hamstring), Jack Hallahan is doubtful (thigh injury) while Enoch Andoh returns after recovering from flu. Gary responded to rumours about Enoch Andoh’s whereabouts on Saturday; “Enoch had flu and we didn’t want it spreading around the rest of the squad. We are playing well and this should be a time for positivity not rumours, the players read social media and it is unsettling when they see stuff like that. We all need to be pulling together in the right direction.”
In other squad news Bradley Wells has dual registered with Frickley Athletic to get more game time and made his debut for them against Sheffield on Saturday. Louis Ezewele has joined Redditch United on a free transfer and played for them against Nuneaton at the weekend.
Admission; Adults-£10, Concessions-£7, 12-17 year olds-£5, Under 12s-Free when accompanied by an adult.
