Hednesford Town v Blyth Spartans (H) FA Cup Third Round Qualifying

Friday 04/10/2019

National League North outfit Blyth Spartans are Saturday’s visitors to the PRG Stadium at Keys Park in the Emirates FA Cup Third Round Qualifying. The Spartans, managed by former Newcastle, Sunderland and Fulham player Lee Clark, have had a difficult start to the season and are currently bottom of the league. Their form has picked up over the last two games; winning their Cup replay against Curzon Ashton before beating AFC Telford at Croft Park last weekend.

Ahead of the game Gary Hayward said; “They are in the league above and Lee Clark will have them well organised and up for it. We have a game plan and will have to match them for hard work, get into them and be up for the challenge. I hope that with a bit of luck we will be able to get a result and be in the hat for the next round. The FA Cup is a great competition and it would be great to get to the First Round Proper and play a big league side at Keys Park.”

Ben O’Hanlon is still a few weeks away from fitness while Reece King and Sam Griffiths were rested in the League Cup on Monday night after sustaining knocks against AFC Rushden & Diamonds last weekend.

Kick off is at the usual Saturday time of 3pm.
