St. Ives Town v Hednesford Town (A)

Monday 27/01/2020

Hednesford Town will travel to Cambridgeshire on Tuesday to take on St. Ives Town in the BetVictor Premier League Central. Having lost their last five games and with only one league win since October the Ives are going through a difficult patch of form and currently sit one place off the foot of the table, five points adrift from safety.

Ahead of the game and reflecting on last Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at home to Stourbridge, Pitmen joint caretaker manager Ben Bailey said; “We battled hard against Stourbridge but confidence and sharpness were lacking.  There was a foul in the build up to both goals; on Ossie (Abadaki) for the first and a blatant push in the back on myself for the second. The next two away games are must wins, they are both below us (St.Ives and Needham Market) and we need to get the points, keep clean sheets and get back to a winning mentality”.
