Hednesford Town v Long Eaton United

Monday 21/09/2020

Emirates FA Cup action returns as the Pitmen take on Long Eaton United under the floodlights at the PRG Stadium, Keys Park on Tuesday night in the First Qualifying Round. The Blues, who play in the Premier Division of the Midland League are in fine form with two wins already in the FA Cup; beating Grimsby Borough before seeing off Bottesford Town 4-2 on penalties. Pitmen manager Andy Morrell was present last week to witness The Blues’ 12-0 league drubbing of Selston. Andy commented;

“It was interesting! They played really well and have some very good players. It is a potential banana skin for us and we will need to be at our best. The FA Cup is a great competition for everyone bringing excitement for the supporters, revenue for the club and the chance for players to make a name for themselves”.

Hednesford may have to shuffle the pack following injuries to Dan Preston and Lee Smith during Saturday’s league opener against Stourbridge.

Due to the delayed start to the 2020/21, there will no replays in this season’s FA Cup. Should scores  be level after 90 minutes, there will be no extra time and the game will be decided by a penalty shootout. The winners at this stage will receive £2250 in prize money with the losing team getting £750.

Kick off 7.45pm

Bars will be open before the game.
